The PRISM Family of Hybrid IP and SDI waveform monitors has the largest touchscreen on the market and a wide range of software options. It includes many applications, has a UI that can be personalized to meet the needs of many types of users, and can be configured to tackle equally many tasks. PRISM is a critical component of many engineering, live production, and post production operations. The PRISM feature-set continues to grow and, as live production becomes ever more demanding, it continues to accommodate those needs. Among the most recent new, production-oriented features is what we call “multi-input mode”.

Broadcast, studio production, and live production facilities are transitioning from SDI to IP infrastructure. Much of this relies on ST 2110 which means that resolving problems relies on moving from point-to-point diagnosis to network-centric troubleshooting. Monitoring by exception is critical to easing this transition.

Diagnosing and Resolving faults in an ST 2110 IP Video network requires comprehensive root-cause analysis. Monitoring by exception and a seamless transition to IP diagnostics tools can significantly improve your ability to do it. It does not matter whether a fault results from IP errors or from some type of deterioration to, or glitch in, the program essence elements like video, audio, or data. All that matters to a viewer, and thus to your business, is rapid resolution.

It’s difficult to set up surround sound audio by ear, without a tool like the audio app in the PRISM waveform monitor. Doing this through your entire facility without an instrument is impossible. Imagine trying to find the one place where your audio is out of phase through hundreds of meters of cable without test equipment. Since the media industry relies on complex audio implementations, it’s beneficial (not to mention very convenient) to include audio tools in the same instrument you use to diagnose video anomalies.
